Biography
Sam spearheads funding strategies, focusing on grants and partnerships with development organizations to support Aegis’ global initiatives. He also oversees development of visitor engagement services at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, enhancing the experience for over 10,000 monthly visitors, including high- profile guests. A University of Derby graduate, Sam founded the Derby Aegis Society and chaired Aegis Students. During his gap year, he helped launch and manage Fund4Darfur, an Aegis fundraising initiative for genocide survivors. He launched Discover Rwanda, an educational volunteering program, and established Rwanda’s first social enterprise youth hostel. As Aegis’ social enterprise manager, he created sustainable funding initiatives like the Museum Café and Gift Shop and provided skills training for young genocide survivors. He also helped expand White Rose in the UK whose charity recycled fashion stores support Aegis Trust.
