Mashirika
Mashirika Creative and Performing Arts is a youth theatre group with local, national and international experience. Its teaching staff demonstrate and encourage drama skills, both through the performances and workshops, and have a detailed knowledge and understanding of how to convey sensitive issues in a theatre environment. The group was chosen to perform in Kigali at the 10th anniversary commemoration of the genocide, and also before the G8 World Summit in Edinburgh in 2005. Mashirika has the professional ability, skill and versatility to adapt to differing situations and the necessary resources to meet the challenge of portraying genocide and its consequences with sensitivity and in a manner appropriate to different audiences.
