The Lubanga Chronicles Project aims to follow the case of former Democratic Republic of Congo rebel commander, Thomas Lubanga, before the International Criminal Court (ICC). This Project seeks to chronicle the case from a legal and a human interest perspective. The Chronicles will examine key legal issues but will also portray the trial participants, looking closely at their personal experiences, feelings and emotions.
It does so through the distribution of:
(a) written chronicles;
(b) short audio clips via local radio stations in DRC
(c) short video clips via internet and other outlets; and
(d) at a later stage, a compilation of the chronicles in book format, or in documentary form.

Background
Lubanga is allegedly responsible, as co-perpetrator, of war crimes consisting of:
• Enlisting and conscripting of children under the age of 15 years into the Forces patriotiques pour la libération du Congo [Patriotic Forces for the Liberation of Congo] (FPLC) and using them to participate actively in hostilities in the context of an international armed conflict from early September 2002 to 2 June 2003 (punishable under article 8(2)(b)(xxvi) of the Rome Statute);
• Enlisting and conscripting children under the age of 15 years into the FPLC and using them to participate actively in hostilities in the context of an armed conflict not of an international character from 2 June 2003 to 13 August 2003 (punishable under article 8(2)(e)(vii) of the Rome Statute).
