Tomorrow is too late

Tomorrow is Too Late is an awareness raising film, highlighting the need for the protection of civilians at risk of genocide in Darfur. The film was first screened at the launch of the Protect Darfur campaign in the House of Commons in March 2005. At the time, the international community was focusing on securing a peace agreement and providing humanitarian aid. Meanwhile attacks on African villages continued. Up to 10,000 people were loosing their lives each month. 5 UN Resolutions had been passed but little had changed on the ground. An AU force of 3,200 was slowly being deployed, but even this small force was underesourced. In February 2005, frustrated at the international community failure to protect civilians, the Chairman of the AU Commission said, ‘The international community has discussed this growing catastrophe for too long. There is urgent need for action to provide protection. Tomorrow will be too late’.
