Mashirika and Aegis Present the UK tour of ‘Africa’s Hope’, a true story of survival told through music and dance

September 18th 2008 - 28th November 28th 2008

Africa's Hope communicates a message of hope for the future of Africa, whilst confronting the memories and the reasons behind the Rwandan genocide. The company, all survivors and refugees from genocide, are dedicated to their genocide education programme, to creating an understanding of the consequences of accepting racism and prejudice in our society.

Mashirika is recognized as Rwanda's foremost youth performing arts company. Now approaching its 10th birthday, Mashirika continues to evolve artistically and remains at the forefront of exciting African theatre. At the same time, it maintains its distinctive style and commitment to bringing accessible real-life theatre to an international audience.
